Scan QR Codes/Barcodes on Android Devices

This guide explains how to scan QR codes and barcodes on Android devices using the built-in Camera app, Google Lens or a third-party app.

Camera App:

  • Open the Camera App: Access your device's default Camera app.

  • Point at the QR Code: Steadily aim your camera at the QR code/ Barcode for 2-3 seconds.

  • Look for a Notification: If scanning is enabled, a notification will appear.

  • Tap the Notification: This will direct you to the content linked to the QR code/ Barcode.

If no notification appears, you might need to enable QR code scanning in your device settings or use Google Lens:

Using Google Lens:

  • Open the Camera app: Access your device's default Camera app.

  • Tap the Google Lens icon: Click the Google Lens icon on the screen.

  • Point your camera at the QR code: Steadily aim your camera at the QR code/ Barcode for 2-3 seconds.

  • Look for a Notification: If scanning is enabled, a notification will appear.

  • Tap the Notification: Tap the notification that appears to access the content.

Third Party App:

If your device doesn't support QR code scanning natively, you can download a third-party app from your device's app store.

For Example, you can download the “QR & Barcode Scanner” app from the Play Store -https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?hl=en_US&id=com.gamma.scan

  • Open the QR & Barcode Scanner app: Access the QR & Barcode Scanner app by clicking the app icon on your mobile.

  • It will launch the app scanner to scan the barcode.
