This guide will explain how to use the "Repeat Entry Clone Button" field to copy specific field values from one repeat entry and pre-populate them into a new one.
1. INITIAL SETUP:
- Drag and drop a "Repeat Group" field onto your form.
- Rename the Repeat Group label as needed (e.g., "Contact").
2. CONFIGURE THE REPEAT GROUP FIELDS:
- Inside the Repeat Group, drag and drop the fields you want to collect data for.
- In this example, the following fields were added:
- "Country" (Text field)
- "City" (Text field)
- "Name" (Text field)
- "Contact" (Phone field)
3. ADD THE "REPEAT ENTRY CLONE BUTTON" FIELD:
- Inside the same Repeat Group, drag and drop the "Repeat Entry Clone Button" field.
- Click the pencil icon to configure it.
4. CONFIGURE THE "REPEAT ENTRY CLONE BUTTON" FIELD:
- Set the Clone Button Label — this is the text that will appear on the button (e.g.,
Copy and Add Contact).
- Set the “Select Repeat Group” option: Select the Repeat Group this button belongs to.
- Set the “Select Fields to Include During Clone” option: Select the fields whose values should be copied to the new entry.
- In this example, only "Country" and "City" are included in the clone. "Name" and "Contact" are intentionally excluded, so the user must fill them in fresh for each new entry.
5. TEST THE FORM:
- Open the form and fill in values for all fields in the first repeat entry (Country, City, Name, Contact).
- Click the "Copy and Add Contact" button.
- A new repeat entry will be created with the "Country" and "City" values pre-populated from the previous entry.
- The "Name" and "Contact" fields in the new entry will be blank, ready for new input.
