In this guide, we will explain how to update the field label of a field based on the user's selection in another field.
We will update the field label of the âDateâ field using the âField Update Workflowâ field based on the selection of the âSelectâ field.
- Initial Setup:
- Drag and drop a âSelectâ, a âDateâ, and a âField Update Workflowâ field onto your form.
- Rename the fields as needed.
- Configuring The âSelectâ field:
- Click the pencil icon of the âSelectâ field.
- Update the Select Options.
- Save the changes.
- Configuring The âField Update Workflowâ field:
- Click the pencil icon of the âField Update Workflowâ field.
- Set âRule Criteriaâ as âStage || not equal to || â.
- Set âField Updates Successâ as âEnter Date|| label || {{eeae-c2ee-0cba}} Dateâ.
- Here â{{eeae-c2ee-0cba}}â is the field ID of the âSelectâ field.
- Save the changes.
- Note: It will update the label of the âDateâ field based on the option selected in the âSelectâ field.
- Test The Form:
- It will update the Date field label when the user selects any option in the Select field.
- Optional: You can update the âDateâ field label based on any specific âSelectâ field selection.
- Click the pencil icon of the âField Update Workflowâ field.
- Set the Rule Criteria as âStage || equals || Closed Wonâ.
- Note: You can use any other Select Option instead of âClosed Wonâ.
- Set the âField Updates Successâ as âEnter Date || label || Closed Won Dateâ.
- Save the changes.
- Test The Form:
- It will only update the Date field label if it matches the Rule Criteria.
- Note: You have to use a separate âField Update Workflowâ field for every âSelectâ option.
