Update Field Label Based on User Selection

In this guide, we will explain how to update the field label of a field based on the user's selection in another field.

We will update the field label of the “Date” field using the “Field Update Workflow” field based on the selection of the “Select” field.

  1. Initial Setup:
  • Drag and drop a “Select”, a “Date”, and a “Field Update Workflow” field onto your form.
  • Rename the fields as needed.

  1. Configuring The “Select” field:
  • Click the pencil icon of the “Select” field.
  • Update the Select Options.
  • Save the changes.

  1. Configuring The “Field Update Workflow” field:
  • Click the pencil icon of the “Field Update Workflow” field.
  • Set “Rule Criteria” as ‘Stage || not equal to || ‘.

  • Set “Field Updates Success” as ‘Enter Date|| label || {{eeae-c2ee-0cba}} Date’.
  • Here ‘{{eeae-c2ee-0cba}}’ is the field ID of the “Select” field.
  • Save the changes.
  • Note: It will update the label of the “Date” field based on the option selected in the “Select” field.

  1. Test The Form:

  • It will update the Date field label when the user selects any option in the Select field.

  1. Optional: You can update the “Date” field label based on any specific “Select” field selection.
  • Click the pencil icon of the “Field Update Workflow” field.
  • Set the Rule Criteria as ‘Stage || equals || Closed Won’.
  • Note: You can use any other Select Option instead of “Closed Won”.

  • Set the “Field Updates Success” as ‘Enter Date || label || Closed Won Date’.
  • Save the changes.

  1. Test The Form:
  • It will only update the Date field label if it matches the Rule Criteria.
  • Note: You have to use a separate “Field Update Workflow” field for every “Select” option.
