Report A Problem Using Popup Without Submitting A Form

This guide will explain how to Report a Problem Using a Popup Field without submitting a Form.

  1. Initial Setup:
  • Drag and drop an “Email”, two “Field Update Button”, a “Popup Field Section”, a “TextArea”, a “Photo”, a “File Upload”, a “Sent Email”, and a ”Hidden” field onto your form.
  • Rename the field as needed.

2. Configuring The First “Field Update Button” Field:

  • Click the pencil icon of the first “Field Update Button” field.
  • Set “Field Updates” as ‘Popup Field Section || event || popup:open ’
  • Now, clicking the button will trigger the “Popup Field Section” field.

  1. Configuring The “Popup Field Section” Field:
  • Click the pencil icon of the “Popup Field Section” field.
  • Update “Popup Title” as needed.

  • Select “Popup Section Fields” as shown below.
  • Save the changes.

  1. Configuring The “File Upload” Field:
  • Click the pencil icon of the “File Upload” field.
  • Update the “Button Label” as needed.
  • Update the “Parent Record Id” option with the Hidden field’s label.
  • Set Object Type as “File”.

  • Click the pencil icon of the second “Field Update Button” field.
  • Set “Field Updates” as
    • Popup Field Section || event || popup:close
    • Send Email || event || run
    • Problem Description || value ||
    • Problem Screenshot || value ||
    • Screen Recording Upload || value ||
  • Save the changes.

  1. Configuring The “Send Email” Field:
  • Click the pencil icon of the “Send Email” field.
  • Fill in the “Template Id” and “Connection Id”.
  • Save the changes.

  • You can copy the “Template Id” from the form edit page on the builder site.

  • You can copy the “Connection Id” from the Email connection page.

  1. Configuring The “Hidden” Field:
  • Click the pencil icon of the “Hidden” field:
  • Set the {{Formyoula_User_Salesforce_Id}} system merge field as “Value”.
  • Set “Yes” for the “Enable Merge Fields” option.
  • Save the changes.

  1. Setup an “Email” connection:
  • Go back to the Dashboard. Click on “(Add)” under the “Connections” column or click on the “Create a Connection” button, or select “Add/Edit Connections” from the “Actions” available list.

  • Select “Email” from the available connections list and click “Create Connection >>”.

  • Fill in the “To Email” option.
  • Here, {{82e9-f8f8-fdbe}} is the field ID of the “To Email” field.

  • Add a subject to your email.

  • Set up your “Email Body” with the field labels, field IDs and the link as shown below.
    • Here, {{dc4d-e254-fab8}} is the field ID of the “Problem Description“ field.
    • {{6448-f11f-ef8e}} is the field ID of the” Problem Screenshot “ field.
    • {{feda-8866-16de}} is the field ID of the” Screen Recording Upload “ field.
  • Please use this link. (Make sure to update the field id as per your form).

  • Save the changes.

  1. Form Setup:
  • Click the “Setup” button on your form edit page.

  • Select the “Disable Standard Navigation” option.
  • Save the changes by clicking the “Save changes” button.

  1. Test the form:
  • Try the form.
  • Fill in an email ID to report a problem.
  • And click the icon-based floating button.

  • It will display the “Popup Field Section” field.

  • Add Description, Screenshot and Screen recording.
  • Click the Submit button.
